Air Drums

Students:
Almog Algranti, Nadav Abayov, Yarden Wolf
Supervisors:
Alon Binder, Itai Dabran
Description:
We’ve created a virtual interactive musical instrument, camera based with drumsticks, Arduino and led rings. On the software side We use computer vision algorithms to detect our drum sticks by detecting their ends’ color. We then place them on the virtual instrument by the user’s movements. We use a depth camera that detects the precise 3-axis location of the sticks. On the hardware side We use Arduino and led rings. The led rings are used to define the instrument’s location in space and react interactively to the user’s playing by calculating the acceleration. The stronger the player hits the drums the brighter the led ring lights up.
