Remote Science
Students:
Adi Falach, Mai Barishanski, Stav Roth
Supervisors:
Itay Dabran, Tom Sofer, Aseel Aborokn
Description:
In our modern times, due to environmental constraints there is a need to
allow remote actions such as studying and experimenting.
The Remote Science system is a robot simulating a scientific pendulum
experiment setting, controlled using a designated website.
The system allows remote configuration of the experiment parameters
delivers the results and provides a livestream video of the experiment
being conducted.
The system doesn't require manual resetting and enables data flow via
different networks, which contributes to the user’s convenience and
flexibility.
Project Title:
Fall Prevention
Students:
Eden Levi, Orad Barel, Almog Ben-Shaul
Supervisors:
Itay Dabran, Tom Sofer, In collaboration with Rambam Health Care Campus
Description:
Problem: One of the most frequent injuries to patients after brain-surgery is caused
by falling off their hospital bed.
Solution: Fall Prevention is a layer of physical sensors that, with the help of
Machine Learning, helps indicate before a patient is falling and alarm the nurses so
that it can be prevented.
The main advantage of this project over other solutions is how cheap and scalable
it is. Using just 8 sensors per bed and one local network.
Features Included:
• Physical layer of sensors
• Data Collection
• Prediction (using Deep Learning)
Project Title:
RoboRover
Students:
Sally Turutov, Assaf Bamberger, Itay Stolear
Supervisors:
Itai Dabran, Tom Sofer, Tomer Ron
Description:
Controlling a robot through a web interface from everywhere in the world.
Main features of the project:
• Accessing the controller from anywhere in the world.
• Broadcasting live camera feed from the robot to the web page.
• Controlling the movement of the robot.
• Using a claw to grab and trap various items.
We decided to use ngrok which implements “Reverse Tunneling” and allows fast response time.
Project Title:
Coding Blocks
Students:
Orel Adivi, Noy Shmueli, and Hila Ginzburg
Supervisors:
Assel Aborokn, Tom Sofer, and Itai Dabran
Description:
Most of the textual programming languages are based on the English language, and they have strict syntax requirements, so elementary school students face many difficulties when using them.
To overcome these challenges, we suggest using a simple visual programming language for programming an interactive puppet, using an ESP32 controller and MicroPython firmware.
By using the Google Blockly library with the BIPES platform, the student programs the puppet on the browser, requiring only access to the internet.
Such a puppet can be used for teaching both the concepts of algorithmic thinking and the basics of programming in Python.
Project Title:
Regrowth
Students:
Dana Asfour, Aida Mwais, Eitan Manor
Supervisors:
Itai Dabran, Tom Sofer
Description:
Animal tracking with lack of WiFi supported systems in farms. We offer a gatway between a sensor system and a firebase. It transmits data received from nodes (sensor stations located in farms) to a central server.
Project Title:
Pilltracker
Students:
Mahmoud Massarwi, Malak Marrid, Zaina Drawshy
Supervisors:
Itai Dabran, Tom Sofer, Aseel Abo-Rokn. In collaboration with Prof. Bitterman Noemi
